Meet Taylor Salkil, NP-C – Now Accepting New Patients!

Taylor Salkil, NP-C

We are excited to introduce Taylor, our experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner who is now accepting new patients! Taylor offers exceptional care for individuals of all ages and specializes in perimenopause and menopause care, bio-identical hormone therapy, health optimization, and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and heart disease.

A Glimpse into Taylor’s Expertise

Taylor’s diverse expertise enables her to offer personalized and holistic care for each patient she sees. With a focus on both acute and chronic conditions, she takes pride in helping individuals optimize their health and navigate life's transitions, whether they’re dealing with menopause or managing ongoing health challenges.

Ever wondered who Taylor is beyond her impressive credentials? We had the chance to dive deeper into what drives her passion for healthcare, how she connects with patients, and some of her favorite tips for living a healthy, balanced life.

Why Did You Become a Nurse Practitioner?

When asked why she chose the path of a nurse practitioner, Taylor shared, “I love getting to make a positive impact in the lives of people—in their spirits, minds, and bodies. I love the detective work needed in healthcare. I had a close family member with significant health issues that wasn’t taken seriously for years, and it impacted them and the entire family poorly. I don’t want that to happen to others. We can do better.”

Taylor’s desire to ensure others receive the right care stems from her own personal experiences, and this fuels her commitment to providing patient-centered care that truly addresses her patients’ needs.

What Do You Love About Working in Direct Primary Care?

When it comes to her work, Taylor is passionate about the autonomy and flexibility that working in direct primary care offers. “To me, it has felt like most, if not all of the red tape has been removed in being able to provide excellent care to our patients. We are not a number mill seeing how many patients we can squeeze into a day like offices who are paid per visit. We are fortunate to be able to spend extra time listening, educating, and coming up with a personalized care plan. At the same time, we have some flexibility to get in urgent sick visits most of the time. We are usually able to communicate much more quickly with our patients, and them to us,” she explains.

Her approach is patient-focused, ensuring that each individual is heard and understood, which ultimately leads to better outcomes and satisfaction.

One Piece of Health Advice You Wish Everyone Knew

Taylor shared a simple but powerful piece of health advice that everyone can benefit from: “A 10-minute brisk walk IMMEDIATELY after your biggest meal or two of the day drops post-meal blood sugar the same way taking a new diabetes medication can.” This simple activity is an easy way to improve your health, especially for those managing blood sugar levels or at risk for diabetes.

What Do You Enjoy Outside of Work?

When Taylor isn’t providing exceptional care to her patients, she enjoys a variety of activities that keep her active and connected to those she loves. “I’m grateful for time off to spend with my family—traveling (bags always packed!), kayaking, mission trips, teaching youth at church with my husband, gardening, horseback riding, camping, and spending time with our Australian Shepherd, Koby. I also enjoy cooking, trying new recipes, game nights, reading, target practice, and attending festivals.”

It’s clear that Taylor has a zest for life and enjoys the balance of staying active and spending quality time with her family.

What Do You Love Most About the Area We Live In?

As someone who’s deeply connected to her community, Taylor shared what makes this area so special to her: “The natural beauty of the Ozarks. The Godly values much of our community holds and the Southern friendliness in general. All of the outdoor adventure opportunities.” Whether it’s a quiet walk through the woods or taking in the scenic views, the Ozarks provide a peaceful and welcoming environment that Taylor loves.
